  • Communicate the innovative and one-of-a kind product inside.

  • A minimalistic, premium packaging that conveys clarity and precision whilst evoking a sense of mystery.

Flowbio S1 is the world’s most accurate hydration sensor that is non-invasive, wireless and ergonomic. The product is aimed at high-performance athletes. Those that use it are not driven by trends or social media followers, but by performance, precision and outcomes.

The final design was a product of deep research into the brand, values and user. This was balanced to reflect on their premium price point whilst achieving a strategic desire to “stage” the product to illicit intrigue. As if emerging from the depths, creating a new competitive edge for determined athletes.

The challenge was to create a narrative and visual language from scratch for a product that does not naturally evoke its usage. We turned this into an advantage, and enhanced the sense of mystery. Where we tested various concepts in which we directly communicated the USP, we found that a less obvious and considered less “safe” option would achieve the bold ambitions of the company.

Athlete’s Hydration Journey

Every athlete goes on their own learning journey. On average it usually takes 3-4 years for athletes to fully understand the science behind hydration and performance.

This is why we decided to consciously place this design within that user’s personal journey, between their discovery phase and beginning of a new chapter. This is where things seem novel, mysterious and full of potential.

We aim to be that reward at the end of their discovery journey.
